Email: Jesus@Bethlehem

This unique picture book imagines that Jesus was born today, and goes on to explore how everyone would have received the news - on mobile phones, via the internet or by satellite?

Review

I thought you'd be interested that the illustration and final page of text in 'e-mail:Jesus@Bethlehem' triggered a few ideas for us at Church.

A number of years ago, the children at church acted the story out and we decorated the walls of the church with thin sheets of polystyrene that had been covered in bright materials and made to look like gifts. The words...compassion, humility, forgiveness etc were wriiten in large letters on each 'gift'. When the woman who coordinates our outreach Community Centre saw them, she borrowed them the following year and used them as decorations around the Centre and under a Christmas tree.

In the past year, one of the groups that runs at the Centre to help integrate people with some psychiatric issues with others in the Community, began creating a series of mosaic plaques. The inspiration for these came from the 'gifts'. So now we have beautiful mosaics for 'Peace, Love, Friendship, Hope...'etc.(21 of them I think.)
