The idea behind the book

I once saw a penguin teetering at the edge of a pool in the bird garden at Harewood House. He was watching the others jumping in and swimming about. It looked like he was frightened and reminded me about how scary it can be to jump in the deep end of the swimming pool for the first time. This story is all about overcoming fear.
